A barrier-free shower removes the single biggest obstacle in any wet area: the curb. There’s nothing to step over, nothing to roll over, and nothing to trip on. The shower floor and the bathroom floor live at the same plane. For wheelchair users, walker users, and anyone planning long-term care at home, that’s the difference between a shower you can use and one you can’t.
These are technically harder builds — we re-slope the subfloor so water still drains correctly, we re-route plumbing, and we run extra waterproofing — but they install in the same two-day window once we’re on site. We follow ADA-style proportions for grab bars, seating, and turning radius, and we tailor each build to the specific homeowner. Every barrier-free install is part of our Haven Custom package.
A fully curbless, roll-in pan with a hidden linear or center drain re-sloped through the subfloor. A wider entry to accommodate a wheelchair or walker. ADA-style grab bar layout (typically a horizontal at the valve and a vertical at the entry). A fold-down or built-in seat. A dual-control handheld plus fixed shower head so the homeowner can shower seated. Premium marble-look composite walls. Designer hardware in chrome, brushed nickel, or matte black. Full clean-up and haul-away.
Two days on site, just like our other walk-in shower installs. The added complexity (re-sloping the subfloor, extra waterproofing, custom grab bar and seat positioning) shows up in the planning phase, not the install timeline. Once materials are staged, our crew runs the same tight two-day rhythm.
